April Songkran 13th - 15th
Beginning on the 13th of April Thai people all over the country celebrate the Thai New Year, the most important holiday on the Thai calendar. The holiday is best known for revellers playfully splashing water on each other anddabing scented powder on each others faces as a new year blessing.

September/Early October Phuket Vegetarian Festival
A colourful event held over a nine day period in late September/early October, this celebrates the Chinese community's belief that abstinence from meat and various stimulants during the ninth lunar month of the Chinese calendar will help them obtain good health and peace of mind. November Loy Krathong Loy Krathong is held on the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. In the western calendar this usually falls in November. "Loi" means "to float". "Krathong" is a raft about a handspan in diameter traditionally made from a section of banana tree trunk (although modern-day versions use specially made bread 'flowers' and may use styrofoam), decorated with elaborately-folded banana leaves, flowers, candles, incense sticks etc.

December King's Cup Regatta

Aprile Songkran 13th - 15th
Questa festa si tiene tra il 10 ed il 12 Aprile e rappresenta il capo d'anno Thailandese e della tradizione agricola. Infatti dopo la stagione secca questa festa rappresenta l'inizio della stagione delle piogge. La festa e le celebrazioni che accolgo il turista sono una gran quantità d'acqua.

Settembre/Early Ottobre Festival Vegetariano di Phuket
La leggenda vuole che esattamente 100 anni fa a Phuket ci fu un’epidemia di malaria diffusasi sull’isola. Novembre Loy Krathong Loy Krathong è la più famosa e affascinante festa thailandese le cui origini incerte ne danno connotazioni diverse: una di queste ritiene che sia di origine brahamitica in onore della dea e degli antichi spiriti dell'acqua; un'altra versione ritiene che la festa sia in onore della dea Khongkha o Ganga; altri credono che il rituale sia un omaggio all'impronta del Buddha lasciata sulla riva del fiume Narmada; mentre altri dicono che è un tributo a Phra Uppakhut, uno dei grandi discepoli di Buddha.
